31 day challenge - Day 27 - Inspired by Artwork

This challenge was another difficult one to think of inspiration for due to the vastness of options available (and my ability to pull any of them off..).  Because I tried (and ultimately failed) to recreate a couple of designs I'll put both of the looks I tried here!

31 day challenge - Day 26 - Inspired by a Pattern

Inspired by a pattern was always going to be difficult as I'm not the best at difficult freehand stuff... I'm kinda happy with the way this turned out all things considered, though it isn't likely that I'll try it again any time soon!

Here's the pattern that inspired me!

31 day challenge - Day 25 - Inspired by Fashion

After a quick Google search for the fashion look, I came across a beautiful dress that Eva Longoria wore and knew I had to attempt this look! I think the look matches it quite well but it's not particularly pretty on the nails.. Unfortunately the purple didn't show up very well on camera too which is a shame.

31 day challenge - Day 24 - Inspired by a Book

The challenge of inspired by a book was the most difficult for me to think of a design for so far. I went through so many options in my head but couldn't think of anything appropriate! I eventually decided to re-do an earlier look and settled on a  Lord of the Rings style look. It turned out alright, nothing incredible though! The script is very difficult to do - it's so fiddly and it doesn't help when you have wobbly hands..

31 day challenge - Day 23 - Inspired by a Movie

I wracked my brain trying to think of a movie to be inspired by for this challenge and settled on one of my favourites - Star Trek! I took the inspiration from the uniforms they wear, particularly in the latest two movies. Man, Chris Pine is a fine specimen ;)

31 day challenge - Day 22 - Inspired by a Song

The next "inspired by" challenge is a song! I went through my entire Spotify playlist trying to figure out which would actually work before I settled on Black and Gold by Sam Sparro. I think this look turned out pretty well and it gave me the chance to use another of OPI's liquid sand shades - this time in Honey Ryder!

31 day challenge - Day 21 - Inspired by a Colour

We're finally on the home stretch of the 31 day challenge! Today's look is to be inspired by a "colour" which initially I was completely and utterly stumped by (apparently that happens a lot!). Then I remembered seeing this design somewhere else before and decided to give it a go. Unfortunately due to the terrible light conditions we have here in our typical dull English summer it was tricky to actually photograph this look so apologies if the pictures look poor.

31 day challenge - Day 20 - Water Marbling

This challenge has got to be the messiest, most frustrating one so far. Water Marbling has always been a pain to do due to the time it takes and the difficulty of getting it to actually work in the first place! Couple that with the fact that I kept knocking my nails and smudging the design and you make an irate Beth. The colours I used also seemed just too sheer to use but I was determined to use them! They turned out alright in the end though and I do love the finish that water marbling gives!

31 day challenge - Day 19 - Galaxies!

I love doing the galaxy look as there are so many different colour combos/patterns you can use and the result looks cool every time! It also makes me think of things like Star Trek or Star Wars every time too!

31 day challenge - Day 18 - Half moons!

I've never tried out half moons like this before and I'm wondering why that is as I absolutely love the way these turned out! They're very flattering and so easy to do too which is a big bonus! It's also the first time I've tried any of the new textured "liquid sand" looks from OPI and boy do I love them! I'm going to swatch and review the entire of the Bond Girls collection at some point which I'm excited about too!

31 day challenge - Day 17 - Glitter

I have returned! Finally on the mend from my illness I bring you the glitter challenge! This look turned out okay, though not the best in the world as I was still feeling shoddy when I did this! Excuses, excuses, I know!

Hi to any lovely people who reads this - it's just a little explanation as to why there have been no posts lately! Unfortunately over the last week I've been really ill and have had absolutely no motivation to do my nails. I'm still feeling pretty awful so there might not be a post again for a few days. I do have a couple of the next challenges done but I don't want to put them up before I can start blogging properly again!

Sorry again, but hopefully I'll be better soon and can finish off the challenge! After that I'm going to be swatching two new OPI collections which are both fabulous so I'm looking forward to doing that too.

31 day challenge - Day 16 - Tribal print

Today sees the return of the tribal print (otherwise known as aztec) nails! I do love doing this as it really gives you a chance to just doodle on your nails - though you've still got to have some sense of discipline to it. This probably isn't my best look but it's still a cool design to try out!
